Glasgow to Reading Via Teeside. Could drive that in a day easy enough, few breaks for food and a pee but its possible. Now take the same jouney, take away the transport, replace with a pair of sturdy boots and what do you have? Me! Walking from Glasgow to Reading Via Teesside to raise awareness for CFR's and hopefully loads of cash for all three areas. If I could enlist a few volunteers along the way then that's good too. I'll be putting details on my website, but take a look now cos I've already raised a few quid and intend to raise loads more. Not just for CFR's but for First Aiders of all sorts, and also for a children's charity. Go on, take a look, you know you want to! www.steveblethyn.co.uk

Hi Steve. Sounds like a great idea. Make sure you keep us posted. If you've got any photos etc, send them to us and we'll add it to our blog, twitter etc and hopefully get you a little exposure (every little helps!).

There's more... The office in Teesside has said that when we're due there, they're going to organise a welcoming committee. Now it's official, the company PR manager is going to get her teeth into this and hopefully do a BIG press release. Nationals here we come!!!!

Now it's official, Foster Wheeler Energy Limited have already pledged an amount of cash, and will be putting their large amount of PR expertise to good use.

As far as I'm concerned blef, you can give yourself a pat on the back before you even start for even considering such a task, well done you. I'm new to this forum so I havn't looked to see if its possible to post photo's yet but if it is it would be great to see some of your treck (and of course the welcoming committee at the end)

UPDATE.!.!.! The walk is going to be March/April 2010. Trying to get exact dates is a nightmare. Must start from Glasgow on a week day, need to be in Teesside on a week day and need to finish in Reading on a week day. DOH! Got the route sorted (not what you would expect) know roughly where we will try and spend each night, and will be contacting landowners, caravan and camping sites etc to see if we can spend the night 'gratis' This is also turning out to be a nightmare as in March and April most of these places are shut. Double DOH! Still, if it was easy it wouldn't be a challenge. Contacting local newspapers along the route this week to see if they can give us some coverage, and also trying to get the BBC ITV etc interested. These blisters are gonna be worth it!
More updates as and when I know anything new
